About the Tennessee CFAR Data Sciences Clinic
The Tennessee Center for AIDS Research (Tennessee CFAR) sponsors Data Sciences Clinics for HIV researchers at Vanderbilt, Meharry, Nashville CARES, and the Tennessee Department of Health. At these clinics, researchers can discuss any statistical or informatics questions with Tennessee CFAR statisticians and informaticians. This would be a good time to discuss analysis plans, sample size calculations, study designs for grant proposals (e.g., Development Core award applications), statistical methods used in a paper, strategies for responding to statistical reviewers, setting up research databases, and basic analyses. For some projects, statistical and informatics support beyond the clinic may also be available.
Clinics are held monthly via Zoom from 12:00 – 1:15 PM on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
HIV researchers are welcome to just show up, although it would be best to email us prior to the clinic to ensure we reserve a spot for the researcher and to ensure someone with the relevant expertise is present. (Contact info is below.)
In addition, CFAR Data Science Core investigators are happy to hold clinics as needed and meet virtually with HIV investigators outside of this regularly scheduled time. Please email to arrange a Data Science Clinic.
